Which car does this hood strut fit?

I would like to know which car this front strut will fit...on the right.

The bottom black end on right is too narrow for an '81 or '85 911.

The one on the left is the correct size.

Looks like the ones I just replaced on my '89. There is a shim that helps fill the space.

The ones I bought for the hood (Stabilus SG406033/Porsche number 90151133120) had both ends the same (like the smaller one). They did not come with shims or any attaching parts, but all were already there on my car.

The ones I purchased for the rear (Stabilus 5B-8722BX/ Porsche number 91151233102) have a large end similar to the one you show (grey metal) and the other end is small like the new one you show (black)

Both appear to cross to 911s from 1965-1994.

The spacer (91151133200) is shown below for the 87-89 Carrera (qty 2): Pelican sells it (as do other sellers including Porsche). I am not sure it is necessary.
