Seeking .PDF - 911 Factory Workshop Manual 1965-1971

Does anybody have a (.PDF) version of the 1965-1971 911 Factory Workshop Manual V1 and V2?

**NOTE: I don't want to violate any document protocols so please don't post links to any manuals in this thread.

PM me if you have any ideas where someone might view a copy.

Thanks to those who offered suggestions via PM ;-)

Also, I don't want to start a debate about this topic or anything but after thinking about it I wanted to acknowledge my sensitivity regarding the use of soft copy manuals...but also offer some practical thoughts and justification.

I've bought many 911 reference materials already to research building and servicing my car (e.g. Wayne's - 101 Projects for Your Porsche 911, 1964-1989, Wayne's - How to Rebuild and Modify Porsche 911 Engines 1965-1989, Bentley's - Porsche 911 SC Service Manual, Anderson's - Porsche 911 Performance Handbook) all excellent resources.

I bought a Porsche published CD with all the PET parts manuals in .PDF for every year. I would be very happy to buy a similar CD of all the Service Manuals if Porsche offered one and it was reasonably priced for the enthusiast...

Why Porsche doesn't offer a soft copy of the workshop manuals for enthusiasts seems counter-intuitive to me. My research always results in spending lots of $$$ every year on parts, services, supplies, and tools from our Pelican host, Porsche factory, Porsche dealership, resident tech and industry experts, and aftermarket mfg's. It helps maintain the pool of loyal Porsche enthusiasts and everyone gets paid.

I often research mixing, matching, adapting 911 parts from various years and models to my SC if it suits my vision of function and performance (e.g. gt3 crank, 993 calipers, 3.2 heads, etc). It would be un-reasonable for me as a do-it-youself enthusiast to spend the thousands required to buy hard copies of all the related Porsche service manuals just to access a narrow area of interest in each case.

I am ok to buy the hard copies specific to my model 911 but even then I often do Porsche related research on my laptop away from my library of books and a soft copy is the only way I can do what I need.

Anyway, so far it seems the 1965-1971 911 Factory Workshop Manual (mostly V1) is not readily available on the web in .pdf form.

If noone has a copy I may need to scan my own for personal use ;-)

This website has a lot of factory service manuals in PDF format.

http://www.cardiagn.com/category/porsche-repair-service-manuals/

However, the earliest 911 manuals are 1972.

Hope this helps some.

I own the factory service manuals on Micro-Fiche but my reader broke years ago so I'm still trying to figure out how to get them converted

Don’t libraries sometimes have readers?

Libraries sometimes have microfiche readers back in storage that they’ll gladly donate. I got one from our local library quite a few years ago for a parts microfiche. PDFs are much handier these days.

Looks like a huge amount of effort - 100's of hours of work. This might be of interest: The homebuild automatic micro fiche scanner

He says 4800 dpi flatbed scanners didn't cut it for him; I wonder how a decent flatbed that scanned 9600dpi raw would do? Would still take a long time and huge amounts of disk though...

Commercial convertors make a complete set of printed factory manuals look pretty cheap in comparison:https://www.microfilmworld.com/howtochooseamicrofilmormicrofichescanner.aspx

Yeh, it's a mystery to me why the factory doesn't produce official, high-quality PDFs and sell them.

I have two sets of factory workshop manuals and I'd still buy a PDF version, if only for the ability to print selected pages to take into the garage with me, or scribble notes/corrections on...

Hey Spuggy (and others) - My business (youroil.net) offers any WSMs and Parts Catalogs in pdf format to anyone for the asking. I expected to be inundated with requests but only rec'd 1 which surprised me. Anyway, send me a PM telling me where to send it & I'll give you all I have that applies to your 77S with Turbo power. While most of my stuff is targeted toward carburetors, I am sure I have some stuff you will want.
