Fuchs Color Match

I purchased a brand new pair of Fuchs 16X8 to swap my 7's at rear. However, my original 16X7 has a slight color different than the new set. both are black center although one is a little shinnier than the other set. Where in LA do you recommend taking to correct this issue or is it cheaper to buy a new set of 7's and sell the old one?

Are you talking about the color of the petals or the center cap? If the petals, try rubbing Vaseline on them with a microfiber. It should polish them up, they may match better.

I just did this with 2 new 8" ones and polished and sealed all 4 to get them to match. Simple and it worked for me.

@steven C do you mean you did it with Fuchs guy? or DIY?

satin is the proper finish.

My front original 7"wheels were dull compared to the new ones so I took a very mild polish to the entire wheel first and then coated them all over with Rejex. I coated the new wheels also. It's not a wax but a clear sealer. It does take the satin look to a little brighter but that does not bother me. If you just want to paint the originals it's very easy. Just clean them well, scuff the original paint, tape off the polished lips and spray away. A lot easier than wire spokes on an MGB I did often in my youth!

Good luck.
