compressor pump query

So I have some time on my hands. No engine to tear down, everything running nicely (for now). Got one friend's SC with a high rpm miss to sort. But that won't completely fill the gap timewise.
So I have been resurrecting this piece of gear which has been sitting in my shed for maybe a decade or more. I acquired it out of a 911 at sometime - not sure exactly. Never did anything with it, til I thought it may in fact be useful - as a compact tyre compressor. Which of course is what Porsche must have been thinking too. The motor wouldn't run but I managed to get that apart and it runs fine now. And the unit blows air out - but no pressure. Seems to suck what it blows. Thinking there must be some strange valve system (flap valves?) with something stuck in place.
But here is the Q.
How does this unit come apart? It seems to be one casting. And I am unable to seperate the pump housing from the motor. Not that it will help me in this quest.
If anyone else has not much to do and has some clues, keen to hear. It is a bit of a mystery how they made this thing.
