Anyone using the Works Bell Rapfix with Momo Hub and Wheel?

Looking to order this:

https://jhpusa.com/products/works-bell-rapfix-ii-steering-wheel-quick-release?variant=40352736916

Thinking I do not need their hub since I have a Momo already installed. Also, need to keep my horn functional. This appears to be the right kit.

Just looking for verification.

Thanks!
Erik

I use this setup in my Lotus. You absolutely need both pieces. The two pieces replace the conventional hub, including Momos. Your steering wheel needs to have the Momo PCD bolt pattern, which most aftermarket wheels do.

You can maintain horn functionality.

It's a great setup. Feels 100% solid upon lockup.

So will work with my Momo steering wheel but not the Momo hub already installed?

If that's the case, darn.

Not the end of the world but was really hoping the Momo hub would work.

Good to hear you like the function and feel. (Also a concern)

Thanks!

Why darn? Do you have a particular attachment to your Momo hub?

No, just a lot of projects and thought I could squeeze this in for under 4-450$ by first impressions.

With the hub and quick release shoots up to 800$.

Between suspension, fuel lines and engine swaps this was going to be a fun gift to myself.

No budget constraints and will probably push ahead and order

Ok. I'm sorry, my description was ambiguous. You need the Works Bell Rapfix in addition to your Momo hub. The male portion of the Rapfix mounts to your Momo hub.

Hey...no sweat.

Seems most just buy the hub and QR together. I could not find any info on a Momo hub and Works Bell QR used in conjunction. Looking at it I just couldn't see why it wouldn't work...just couldn't find physical proof - write up, photo, etc...

So...good news then and I am back in business it would appear.

Appreciate it -
Erik

I was curious as to why their special hub would be needed. The quick release description says:
"This quick release will only bolt to 6 bolt Momo, Sparco patterned hubs or 12 bolt multipattern hubs. This is NOT a hub, you need to purchase the specific hub for your car in order to use this." A little ambiguous, but it does say it will bolt to standard hubs.
And looking at their Porsche hub, I don't see anything special that makes it fundamentally different from a Momo patterned hub.

Agreed...guess that's why I posed the question.

When I order, I'll post the results and hopefully this is useful for others.

If others have more info happy to hear (read) it.

There's many listings for this product. In some of them, they do say that you probably want to buy a "short hub".

Because their hub puts the wheel further back by the extra height of the QR assembly - and combined with the Momo hub, may be longer/further back than you prefer.

My old thread...I know, I know.

Busy year with moving across country. But ordered one from Japan and will report back with photos when received.

Just documenting for others interested or on the fence.

Looking at the Momo hub and their hub might have to agree with this. Pedals and shifter might be too far forward after install with the Momo.

Looking at this one, states a few Porsche models, not sure about my 86':
https://jhpusa.com/products/works-bell-short-steering-wheel-hub-porsche

Looks like their hub shortens significantly.

Long ago post...wondering if you ever tried with the Momo hub? As stated this morning am thinking the Momo will be too "long" and the wheel will be in my chest basically.

Erik, take into consideration your leg and arm length relative to your seating position. A steering wheel a little closer to you may feel odd at first, but you may come to appreciate it being an inch or two closer to you.

I find the old advice that the top of the steering wheel should be at your wrist when you put your arms out straight, is too far away for best leverage and control. Thus, I find that the stock position of 911 steering wheel is further away from me than I think is ideal. For reference, I have a 33" inseam and 36" dress shirt sleeve length.

The one downside to having the steering wheel closer is that it may make getting in and out of the seat a little more work. That also depends on your seating position and body measurements.

Agreed on all accounts...

Will be mounting just the quick release before ordering the hub portion.

That being said, using a Mod 7 Momo (old, and I love it) so my gut tells me it will be too close, but we shall see.

As always PeteKz appreciate the response!

Kindest Regards,
Erik

But the steering wheel is now removable in this scenario?

My WB Rapfix measures 62.0 mm (2.44") overall length. Momo PCD on both the male & female halves.

Good info...looks like by the measurements I will be ordering their hub. The Momo plus the quick release will be really close to me - per my current seat position.

Thanks!

Confirm which hub you have. 3-3/4" C-231 or the 4-3/8" L-231.

Thought I may have one of each but both are L-231.
