Wind Deflector Clip Install Help

About a year ago I opened the sunroof on my SC and as the wind deflector opened I noticed the passenger wind deflector buffeting. Closed it and inspected it once I got home and found a clip had snapped.

I finally decided to order a replacement at $80 (ouch), but can’t figure out how to remove the wire spring to remove the old one and replace it.

Any guidance?

Disregard, you just have to be a man about it and not worry about breaking the spring.

Now just have to worry about getting the wire spring back through the clip which is proving more difficult than I’d imagine.

Two hours of telling myself “the definition of insanity is doing the same thing expecting different results” and I finally got it.

There is no real trick, some BMW 2002 owners, after a bit of research, also mentioned the difficulty in getting the torsion spring through the clip and to seat.

Only advice I have is to flatten the portion of the spring that goes into the clip ever so slightly.

I had to subsequently take a ride and pick up celebratory supplies.
