Sad time, selling p car

I got good news and bad, I got engaged and the car is gonna go. It has been fun but right now finances and maintenence is too much trouble, not to mention insurance.
it makes me sick.........................
but I can always get another later.

It seems like it was almost where I wanted it too.

Sorry to hear that. I got married Feb 28th, my son was born Apr 6th, and I bought my Pcar May 25th. Convinced the wife we needed a family car.

This is my decision, not any influence of hers. She actually doesn't want me to get rid of it.

Sounds like you're gonna marry the right girl. Does she have any sisters?

Be careful with this phrase! Based on talking to people, including myself, it is the reverse. heh, heh, heh!

Congratulations! Hope you become a Dad pretty soon. As my motto states......."Why get married if u r not planning on having kids???!!!!'

Congrats! I too am going to tie the knot soon, but the P-car stays. I actually asked a few close friends if I should sell her (the car, not the fiancé). They all said no. But, the one that convinced me to keep it was my dad. I couldn't believe it! My dad! Mr. Conservative.. never spend a penny, dad! He said and I quote "you say you'll get another one, but there will never be the right time...house stuff, kids, etc."

I'd say if you don't seriously, and I mean seriously need the money, don't do it! Keep it

And the good new is....? (Sorry "wife" is not my favorite term these days. My 911 is certainly more useful and reliable with far less maintenance)

Move from Marin county - don't sell the car. Hell, I couldn't afford a P-car in Marin county. What's it - like the most expensive place to live outside of NYC?

Just razzing you - Congrats - I'm sure you'll make the right decision - and cars will come an go - good women are hard to find, sort of like a 73 S...

Ya, I love her lots. She has two kids they just turned seven on thurs last week.
The move from Marin is coming. I am heading to Colorado sooner or later. Her dad is in estas and we have a house happening there. I can see putting away the p car in the winter then all the trouble again to get her up again in the summer.

Thanks for all the replies. I haven't posted in a while and haven't been on the board but it just reminds me about the home away from home.
