Best Cerakote V-series match for muffler

I want to treat the muffler (and intermediate muffler, cross-over pipe and HE’s) of my 1976 Carrera 3.o with Cerakote.

Clean spots of the original paint match almost perfectly with RAL7040.

I will use Cerakote’s V-series, oven cured.

The question now is, which Cerakote color or combination of colors will give me the desired result? I am investigating (a combination of):
- Satin Silver V-119
- Titanium V-164
- Mag Silver V-165

All aid is welcome. I’m happy to share the outcome of my tests, I hope you want to share your formulas as well if you already know how to reach the objective.

We can use this thread also to define the formula for the silver finish used till 1970 approx. Maybe Satin Silver V-119 is already ok for these?

Adding "Mag Silver" to the tests based upon input from Cerakote EU Technical Support.

I can hardly believe nobody did this investigation before... and I hope everyone who did this is passionate enough about authentic restorations to share the outcome... The application has to be done in a secure manner (blasting, acetone bath, pre-heating, painting, air dry, oven cure) enough to outsource the job to the Tru6 guys of this world.

Matching an original color is one of the fun aspects of working with Cerakote. It really comes down to ordering several different colors and mixing them in varying ratios in a series of tests, having a spreadsheet is critical.

Post some results when you have a chance.
