Euro Rear Bumper Valance Different?

I just got around to test fitting my euro bumperettes and found an issue. They don’t fit with my new (and newly painted valance).

The bumper is a euro bumper, bumperettes are new Dansk euro ones, the valance is a new Dansk (91150517108). The fit isn’t close. The valance would need to go further in my about 3/4”.

Is there a euro specific rear valence? I’m scratching my head on this one.

I understand that SCs and 3.2S have different profiles with their bumperettes and valances. You cannot fit an SC bumperette with a 3.2 valance for instance, so it looks like you have one of each

Ian is (almost) right.

Actually the valance and bumper profiles are the same. It's the the placement of the valance mounting holes in the bumper that's different.

Yours is a 3.2, they moved the valance rearward so they had room to mount the muffler and crossover pipe for the heater.

I believe what you have there are early style euro bumperettes 74-83 - you would need the later style 84-89 to work with that valence

Or bolt the pads on and re-drill the bumper holes.

Fudge. Anyone one to buy some new bumperettes? Ha. I’ll list them in the classifieds when I get this sorted.

Also, anyone know the right part number for euro 3.2 bumperettes?

Drilling new holes wont change the fact that its already making contact with the valence

Thank you!

Also, just to be sure, the Euro bumper came from Ebay. I have no idea if it came off a 3.2 or an SC. Is there a difference between the bumpers? The valance bolt holes line up so maybe that’s all I need to know?

My exhaust is custom so it will fit behind either bumper. If my bumper is from an SC I could potentially keep the bumperettes and get a new valance.

Comparison bottom views of rear bumpers. SC bumper (top) and 3.2 bumper (bottom).

Note the relative fore / aft locations of the valance mounting bolt holes and the the different shapes / cuts of the bottom of each bumper. Think Highlights Magazine Check...and Double Check. Can You Spot the Differences?
