Screws the Hold Breather Tube Bracket onto Carrera Airbox
Even after 12 years of ownership, I'm still finding things missing from my car lol.
On my '87 Carrera, there are 2 large oil breather tubes and one small oil breather tube that go through a plastic bracket. That plastic bracket is mounted to the back of the airbox. My plastic bracket is just flapping in the breeze back there. Went to order the screws to day from Porsche and they're no longer available. Anyone have 2 of these things they can drop in the mail to me? I'll happily pay. P/N is N0139698, tapping screw, BZ 4.8x16mm. ![]() ![]()

I don't have any. But, I believe 4.8mm Tapping Screws are a near match for #10 Pan Head Sheet Metal Screws. 16mm length is about 5/8" long.
Often carried in the little bags at the local hardware store. |

WMichsen is correct…, takes some time and reading glasses for me to find misc. hardware at the big box or auto parts store.
You’ll be pressed to find 5/8” in #10 Stainless at the HomeDepot (EverBuilt brand) and Menards (Grip-Fast) where these are from only 1/2” & 3/4”. Menards has a metric selection but tiny packaging in packed drawers always is a mess of mixed up sizes. Lowe’s (Hilman brand) has black coated #10 Interior Trim screws that I used on my door cards that may work, also found them at the local auto parts store. Some Ace Hardware have individual s/s and chrome screws available but limited. All these are about $2 for a package of 3 or 4. Of course you don’t want to oversize and crack the plastic. I would try a #8 first to see how it fits in hole and thread wise which can be found in 5/8” length. #10 x 1/2” would be advised as shorter is better and if #8 too loose… you can slip in a thin soft plastic shaving into the hole and tighten up a #8 screw. ![]() |

I ended up doing a search in the PET for the same thread pitch and length. Turns out the fasteners for the bellows are the same but with a hex head instead of a Phillips screw head.

If the PET spec quoted above is correct:
