Bumper bar/bow info?

Does anyone have any definitive information on this style of front bumper bar/bow? I've read it was/is a genuine Porsche part, that it is an Amco bar (that may or may not have been available through Porsche as an option), and that it wasn't Porsche or Amco but another unknown aftermarket brand. They definitely seem to be period correct at minimum and I've seen a few very stock appearing early cars with them, making me think they were indeed available from Porsche one way or another. Any insight? Thanks!

I wonder if early 911 shared the same bumper as the late 356 and any left over stock used up until it faded away like the hula hoop. Karman Ghia had a run of the towel bar too. More chrome bits looked good on them back then.

They look too narrow to just be a 356 overrider used on a 911 I think. Someone on another thread where I mentioned it said he has one that came on his 67s but he doesn't recall it being in his Kardex. I think they look good on rally/safari inspired car, wouldn't put one on a normal street car though.
