THEN VS. NOW... Lets see those transformations.

I'm in need of some motivation. As im sure some of us do with our long projects.. I'm very close to finishing my car and I've had no drive to work on it lately. I've got just a little bit of fab work to do on the back seat, and then I can install the carpet. Its a simple job but I'm so caught up on making sure everything looks good and perfect. In reality, regardless of what Ill do, I'm sure it will turn out great. SO, anyone got any good before and after's on their project cars?? LETS SEE EM. Here's mine so far... Exterior isn't a whole lot different. But I've stripped it down and re done everything as far as the bones go... Time consuming and frustrating at times. Just hoping it will be worth it in the end!

Looking great man!! The wheels/stance looks awesome. Love me a duckbill. I dont have enough money lol. My goal is to have my current tail, a whale tail, duck bill, and a smooth lid on the wall in my shop, and to be able to swap them out whenever. Whats your IG?

This is the week I bought my 85 Grand Prix White, Carrera back in 1995 with 78,000 miles.

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1743600787.jpg

This was two years ago. It still looks like this. I had not cleaned the bugs off the bumper and lower valance as I was at a track day at Missouri International Raceway. My favorite of all the tracks I have driven.

The only visual from the outside difference is the wheels. 15 inch wheels on the first photo. Now days 15 inch summer performance tires in the proper sizes are pretty much unattainable.

The 17 inch Euromaster wheels allow me to run 225/45 fronts and 225/45 rear. The increase in traction for corners is immense. A bit slower in acceleration, but it is not a drag racer.

Pretty much all the projects from the front bumper to the rear have been done. The Griffith's Mr. Ice project with no doubt is the bast upgrade of all. My wife will ride with me on cross country drives. I have driven it in 41 states, and Canada.

After 30 years I still smile every time I see it in the garage, and I really love driving it. It has 198,000 miles now.

WOW That's impressive!! Love to see a driven car.

When I bought it in March of 2021:

Now:

When I bought it, it had stock torsion bars, leaking Webers, a grinding 1st and 2nd gear, and the rear tires were rubbing.

Since then:

-Replace the transmission with a fresh rebuilt unit from Franz Blam
-EFI/coil-on-plug conversion, new fuel lines, new SC-sized fuel tank
-Rebuilt the entire suspension, 21/27 torsion bars, new shocks, adjustable spring plates, adjustable front shock mounts, new bushings, engine and transmission mounts, new PMB T-sized calipers, new braided brake lines
-New tires
-SSIs and M&K 2/1 to replace the ugly factory heat exchangers and stock muffler
-Fixed a few leaks
-Changed the steering wheel (found a MINT 380mm Momo Abarth), headlights, Rennline pedals, J West shifter, mounted the Patrick motorsports tiny battery kit, replaced the bullet fuses with a modern fuse panel, custom 10k tach and HEUR clock from our own J Bell, a bunch of other things I'm forgetting

RIP money, but worth every penny. The car is an utter joy.

Is that typo in tire size? assuming not same size front and rear?

Thanks!

I didn't like it at first, but I think it suits the car now that it's lower and the rocker trim is removed.
