'88 911 - anyone know what this plug does?

Hi all,

I was digging through the door on my '88 Targa because the window seems to rattle a bit when all the way down and found this plug. It's located directly at the bottom of the driver's door below. The car had a fairly extensive aftermarket alarm system that I ripped out so I'm wondering if it's part of that or an actual factory part before I yank it out. Thanks.

Like you said yank it out - less is more sometimes...
Or wrap it so it won't rattle, if you leave it. It looks like a factory plug with a few conductors for an early car in the door power windows ? locking ? It could be a misplaced side mirror connector.

Looks like the socket to either the power windows or power rear view mirrors. Are those working properly?

Yeah, they work. I had an '84 911 before and it didn't have that plug but it didn't have power locks either.

The window is rattling, not this plug.

Looked it up on the schematics. It's a factory power locks plug. Sorry for the extra thread.
