If it were me, I’d:
1. Unkink the oil line with a hose clamp as BoxsterGT suggested, at least for your continued troubleshooting. 2. Get a mechanical gauge setup to verify what your gauge is telling you. 3. Start the engine, and immediately verify on the mechanical gauge whether you’re seeing oil pressure. If no pressure there either, shut down right away and report back for further troubleshooting. If the mech gauge shows pressure and your dash gauge still doesn’t, you’ve got an issue with either gauge, sender, or wiring |

Nice, really, offer Ddinham but we don't know where the OP is. I would replace the line regardless.

Yes, very nice offer. Thank you. I’m in SC. I think I should buy a mechanical gauge for future use.
Stow, I think your plan above makes sense. I’ll do so. Thanks to all. |

Any decent plumbing shop will have them. Fittings another story, transition to metric.

Made a visit to Harbor Freight. Perhaps this is not the gold standard in mechanical gauges but I think it’s good news. Pressure is high but this is cold start (20w/50 cold).
Handheld pressure gauge plugged into oil temp sensor spot. Tried to put the gauge in the pressure sender location but needed one more size up adaptor. The kit had the correct adapter for the temp sensor location. Gauge in dash was doing its usual laziness…showing little to no pressure. I think the pressure sender may be the original. Indeed. My local shop technician saw the video and he thinks the mechanical gauge is showing too much pressure.
He suggested we check the relief valve. |

Depending on how cold, high pressure on startup can be normal. Once you get your in dash gauge working, check the pressure when engine is warm. Personally I wouldn't bother doing anything else until you verify that.
