993 C4S 1st gear engagement issue
My 1996 C4S got a new factory porsche clutch installed.
However, it now dosnt like going into first gear unless you are almost to a stop, otherwise it will grind. ( before i could downshift into first on the way to a stop light while rolling with no issue) Now, we reused the flywheel. Would that be the issue?

I'm not a 993 guru, but it sounds like the clutch is dragging/not fully released.

Since work was recently done, try re-bleeding the clutch slave to eliminate a hydraulic issue.
When you say the flywheel was reused was it machined? I'm pretty sure that's a DM flywheel and it shouldn't be machined.

Every other gear is fine. Only 1st wants to be almost stopped to engage.

I know, but it seems that first gear is the one that has the most problems when there is slight clutch drag.

A worn or improperly resurfaced flywheel can cause uneven engagement, making shifting into first gear difficult. It could also be a sign that the clutch isn't fully disengaging. I’d suggest double-checking the clutch adjustment and making sure the flywheel surface was properly prepared. If that all looks good, it might be worth revisiting the installation to ensure everything’s aligned correctly.
