Pparts search function sucks?

anyone know why this search functions sucks so badly these days?

I have not ordered in awhile.. so I punch in: "mahle oil filter".

no results found...

WTF has happened this site. have I missed something?

btw. I am trying to find that small secondary oil filter that screws onto the plate near the oil inlet on motor... usually on race cars this plate replaces the engine mounted oil cooler... anyone know where to find one.

thank you. frank

Use Google, search engine has never worked here.

Just call the parts department. They can fill your order and double check everything is right for your car. Yea, the search function is a total joke of a search.

It has cost them money for sure. I have purchased parts elsewhere after not finding them here,
only to see them pop up later. Helps if you already have the part number but if not definitively hit and miss.

On the plus side, their shipping has improved from what it was a couple of years ago. Getting my parts in a timely fashion is nice.

I just tried “mahle oil filter” too and got nothing. Try looking up the exact part number or jump straight into the*“Oil Filters”*category and browse there. If that still fails, give customer service a quick call—they’ll point you to that little inline filter

I used to search by Porsche part # in google to get the pelican link!. I gave some specific feedback and got a really nice note from the ceo.
It has gotten better but theres always more to do, right? I would just say as a tech person that specific constructive feedback can really help.

Meanwhile, general searches may work best. Like “oil” or “filter” and it will list results for you.

The Pelican store has become terrible to use. A bit of a joke

They should run a simple satisfaction survey here on the forum

If I order from pelican, I always use the part number. Search sometimes misses some results, if it even finds something.

Agree, seach totally sucks. Search for one thing and get something close, but the 3rd, 4th, 5th are something totally off the wall. What also sucks is their being receptive to requests.

Case in point. Their parts return form filler pdf was made in some odd graphic program and as a form filler it doesn’t work. Lines that don’t print… I used to make form filler files for pdf’s at work. Drop down cells ect. I fixed their form, more like a major overhaul and sent it to them with a note about I was excited to fix their form. I sent it to the top. No reply, nothing changed. What bafoons.

The app version of their site sucks as well. In the search field, if you want to erase what is in the cell. guess what, no “x” to erase the contents.

It is the same with the company that owns Pelican Parts, “ECS Tuning”. Same scatterbrained search results, same very slow to populate the screen. And prices are more expensive. A 93010776403 Oil Filter is $19.99 on ECS, and $17.64 on Pelican.
