leaking replacement fuel filter?
Just replaced every fuel line on my 1980 sc as well as the fuel pump, strainer and filter. At first startup, the new filter leaked substantially on top at the crush washer which didn't surprise as the threads on the top weren't great and took some torque to over come (fitting didn't thread on my hand - not cross threaded). So I removed and tightened it even more. I'm still having a small weep from that top crush washer. Replace the filter, try another washer, or go even tighter? Thanks!

Hi
Dismantle and inspect parts closely to try and determine cause of leak. Try this with the original or a new washer: Anneal, (soften) the copper washer before use by heating red hot and quenching in water. Cheers |
