Former RS-Werks Employees
Any former employees of RS-Werks out there? I'd like to speak to you.

Actually, I was. I have spoken to the Sanctuary Speed guys, but I'm looking for others. You just never know what might turn up...It sounds like you might have been an RS-Werks customer.

I heard that Scott McK left recently. Don’t know if he is on Pelican or not. It’s been a few years since I last interacted with him and RS.

Not exactly Philly Metro area but Euro Pros in MD has Celettes, owns the attachments and does excellent work.

Since I'm on the left coast and never heard of the problems, what's the skinny? Google search reveals lawsuit(s?), but not much other stuff, other than a shop in Texas saying, "We're RS-Werkes, NOT RS-Werks."
A basic synopsis would suffice. |

A whole car goes in for restoration, the job is slow walked, and less than a whole car comes out when the business closes. So where's the rest of the car?

Sounds like every other working capital constrained business that starts robbing Peter (the most recent car / owner in the door) to pay Paul (one, or more, of the previous cars / owners in the door). It doesn't necessarily start out that way, but, essentially, it turns into a Ponzi scheme. See: Motor Meister, California Porsche Restoration, etc, etc, etc, etc. Outside of our little slice of automotive heaven, Bernie Madoff, etc, etc, etc. Unfortunately, it's a tale as old as time.
Is that correct in this instance?

Seems it became a east coast version of EspoResto or CPR classics on the west coast

I lived near by, went in and left in 20 minutes counting my fingers to see if they were all there. They picked me for their next sucker because Euro Pro's has an 18 month wait list. They were blowing smoke and polishing turds as fast as possible trying to get the next car in to keep the skeez going.
Shades of Motor Miester..

Someone I know had a car there and when he went to check up on it, some parts he dropped off there for his car were installed on the car next to it!

Scott was just a terrible business guy. He was just lucky to be one of a few guys with a shop and a bunch of parts when Urban Outlaw came out. Like most people he probably didn't set out to scam people but rather started doing 10% peter/paul things and cutting 10% corners then one day he wakes up and its snowballed to 80%.
He had my car for four years until I cried uncle and just accepted that the money I gave him was lit on fire and to just move on. |

There was more to it than Scott being "a terrible business guy". I wonder why these posts are being deleted?
