Vin Look Up Question
Hi!
I'm new here and this was the first site that popped up when I entered the Vin. How do I go about looking up Vin numbers? 1974 Porsche 914 2.0 Vin. 4742914394 |

Hi, welcome! This is the 911 board, we have a 914 board here: https://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-914-914-6-technical-forum/
But what are you hoping to learn from your VIN? I don't think the 914 VIN tells you anything other than year of manufacture. Mark

Yes, that’s the vin for a 1974 94 2.0. Like Mark said, that’s about all the vin will tell you. No color. No options. Just year and model.

BTW - Don’t bother paying some VIN Lookup service $0-$30 for info… they advertise ability to search “any VIN” but that only applies to late model 17 digit VINs. No carfax, etc. similar service will have or record anything on vehicles with VINs less than 17 digits.
Personal info is never divulged either, just service and registration histories. |

914 world has a vin registry. Small chance someone may have provided other details.
