GT-Racing Ducktail Fitment

Hello,

Has anyone bought and used a ducktail from GT-Racing?

Planning to buy one used, and wanted to see what everyone’s experience is like with this product? anything I need to look out for?

Thanks!

if its already been fitted to a 911, it's less work. if it's raw, it's more work. that's the story with all fiberglass parts. i've contemplated many years with which ducktail to use. decided to pull the trigger on a stratton and that was garbage too. i ended up with a pre-fitted getty. so, you might as well give it a go and have your body guy help with making it look as good as possible.

Great note. I will give it a go.

That doesn't look like it is even remotely shaped like a factory decklid at the trailing edge.

anything GT racing I have tried fits like absolute garbage. Be ready to put in some fiberglass work to make it fit properly.

I ended up passing on it. Thanks for the input.

Any other suggestions?

Getty is decent, but all 'glass requires work to get good fitment.

Sonjay in the classified will take your metal stock decklid and put a duck on it for best fit.

There are also aftermarket aluminum ducks. I have one and the fit is stellar, but bring extra cash.

ST-parts makes some amazing glass parts that look and fit phenomenally (but cost accordingly) and even those require lots of fine tuning.

Julian,

You've mentioned ST-parts in the past also. I've searched for them with no luck. Any chance that you can pass along contact or web site info?

Anyone try this one?

All aftermarket fiberglass ducktail need to be fitted anyways. Wouldn’t this make sense because of the price?
