CV Boot

I am trying to get the fat side of the inward CV boot onto it's guard/mount on an '86 carrera and am having no luck. The damn replacement boot is smaller than its' mount (on purpose so snug).

But how on God's green earth do you get in to slip on? There is no way to get a screw driver under it to walk it around and on.

Any tricks anyone? Bueller?

Yeah, that snug fit can be a pain. Try warming the boot in hot water to make it more pliable, then use a small pry tool or zip tie to work it over the mount bit by bit. Patience is key

Did you get the right boot? When I did a reboot on my SC axles a few months back I couldn't find a place that only supplied the boots and had to order the entire boot with metal flange. I saw some boots labeled for my car that where sportomatic transmission only, I do believe those are too small.
