Picture uploading?

Maybe there’s a better place to put this but

HOW THE HECK do y’all streamline uploading photos. It takes me 2-5 minutes to try and upload a pic from my iPhone and after that the submission fails half the time. Is this what we get with an old message board that’s 15 year old tech?

I just use a rotary phone and the dual cup modem. Works every time!

iPhones have been sending HEIC files by default since IOS 11, which lots of sites cant accept, not just this one. Its a good file format for photos, but there are compatibility issues.

When uploading photos — when you’re in the iOS photo picker sheet, hit the “…” or icon in the bottom left.

Make sure both “automatic” (this persists) and “large” (or less) are selected. The reality is that most photos you take are > 5MB due to increasing megapixels (resolution) and thus don’t fit within the forums limits.

Get Tapatalk and link this forum to it. It automatically converts HEIC to whatever this site wants. It's free with ads but I hardly notice them

With a phone, be sure the file is a JPG. Not a PNG or HEIC.

Tapatalk will work, but you have to upload it to Tapatalk first, and then it will likely be deleted from the forum in a few years. So in the future, if someone does a search, and finds your thread, the photos will be gone.

Using a computer makes it a lot easier.
