I have a 1969 911t 2.0 with Weber TIPO 40IDA 301 carbs. I'm rebuilding the carbs and needs some assistance. Can I upgrade to a higher volume choke. Currently it has #30. I'm going to mirror polish each one just in case I can't modify my carbs. What kind of mods do you recommend for this carb?

Hi
Original factory chokes for a 2 liter, 911T engine are 27mm. Would suggest you don't go any bigger than the 30mm ones you have . See link below for more info. Absolutely, you can go up in choke size depending on your engine setup and goals. A #30 is on the small side, if you’re running a stock 2.0, something like 32–34mm might give you a bit more top-end without sacrificing too much low-end response. Just be sure to match jets accordingly.

Here are some recommendations from PMO on Weber carb setup. I think the ports in a 2.0 T are 30 or 32 mm?
