New rennline shifter
Has anyone seen this new shifter? Looks interesting. Would love to have more information as to the types of adjustments and length of throw available.

Curious as well.
Hopefully like all other rennline products, it uses SAE hardware ![]()

At $950 it is hard sell compared to Rennshift which is pretty damn nice.

Any experience with this yet? Curious on how it feels/works. Is it sprung to the 3/4 plane?

Nice product. I didn't think there was much more to improve upon in 915 shifter land, but the reverse lockout is pretty clever. It uses a cable from the collar at the top, down to a sliding block at the base of the shifter. That piece then hits an 'interference block' that is adjustable and reversable for 901 transmissions.
It does appear to be spring loaded in the 3/4 plane. The other notable adjustment is the ball that rides in the shift rod socket. The ball shaft has machined reliefs in it to allow 4 adjustments up or down. This effectively gives you 4 different lengths of short shifter to work with. So the top groove would be the standard throw, while the bottom would be equivalent to a short shifter. All in all I would say it's a great design on paper and would love to test one out and compare it to my more basic WEVO. ![]()

Anybody try it yet!?
I'm looking at C.A.E. Ultra Shifter and the aforementioned Rennline Exactshift. Currently sporting the ever popular Rennshifter. |

Same. I think RennShift was the best thing I've ever added on my SC. I'd like to hear about more about this Rennline piece.

Rennline, send me one and I'll review it here and on IG. I can send it back when finished.

shifter
I installed one this weekend for my 69 with a 901. not a bad shifter the throw is a lot shorter and firm, the adjustments are right there and the lock out works, I would say to drive the car and do the final adjustments then . but the install took me about 30 min from start to being done then test drive..I just don't like the ball won't stay tight with one way to tighten and you hand pulling on it all the time.

I purchased one to replace a WEVO I had been using. As a note all of my bushings and linkages had been replaced when I installed the WEVO and had less than 1000 miles.
I could never get the Rennline configured to my satisfaction. No matter how I adjusted it things were always stiff and it was difficult to engage each gear. It also rattled quite a bit. I thew the WEVO back in and everything was perfect. I shared these findings with the Team at Rennline and they allowed me to return the shifter. They did seem like they wanted to understand the issues and hopefully make improvements to their product, I'm not sure if anything has changed.

Just installed one a few weeks ago in my 81sc. Big improvement over stock shift feel. Positive engagement and very little slop. I have adjusted in the stock throw length as it came delivered. Knob that comes with it attaches with a small set screw and has loosened once already. Shaft is threaded to allow for a threaded knob, but it’s an awfully expensive shifter to have to replace the knob out of the box. I really cranked on the screw this time. We’ll see if it holds.
It has a larger footprint than the stock shifter so I had to trim out some of my nice new carpet to install. Installation is straightforward other than the PITA console removal. The elongated shifter base will not allow reinstallation of the console. I am going to consider trimming the round plastic opening in the console to allow it to fit. I do like having the storage in the console. Remember to adjust the reverse lockout on the shifter base when installing. I still need to adjust my shift coupling to center the shifter in the 3-4 slot. The spring returns on the shifter are nice to force the shifter to center. Also, I am able to slightly nick reverse when downshifting from 5-4. So I need to adjust coupler to correct front to back throw to make sure the shifter hits the stop before contacting reverse. |

Very nice install! Thanks for the pix. I didn’t want to give up my leather boot either. I’m going to adjust linkage this weekend and try to get the console back in.

Thanks! If you're interested, the key was to elongate the hole to an egg shape. It took some time to get the right size but not too big. I had the boot made to fit that revised dimension. Redline Goods I think, out of Poland. I did not glue the boot to the bottom of the console, as I wanted to be able to remove everything pretty easily. Instead I used plastic knitting rings. They are strong and with a little heat, were shaped to fit the bend in the console. I used clips glued to the underside of the console. The boot is then glued to the ring, and the ring is flexed through the console hole and clipped in the underside. If you want to do the same thing, let me know and I can send you a bunch of pictures.
