Heres an odd power window switch problem...
Just when you've heard it all.... I was restoring my door panel after fixing a speaker wiring problem and after wiring up the passenger door switch - all was well except when I press UP (passenger side) the window went down and vice versa. I triple checked ALL of the connections to the switches - both driver and passenger side - all was connected as per stock. The driver switches operate as they should!
Needless to say after hours of fiddling around - I flipped the switch upside down and it works as it should:confused: Is this a relay issue? Confession - I dont know where the relays are:D The passenger switch appears to be a newer replacement.... Thanks in advance 88 Cabriolet |
You seem pretty confident. But, my first reaction is ... are you sure? Sure of the original orientation (I think the single spade is on top).
Secondly, since the passenger switch is tandem with the one on driver side, did the driver side get tweaked? Speaking of which, does that secondary switch on the driver side work correctly? The doors on my '87 are apart, so I can confirm wire colors if you want. |
in the middle of the switch are 2 blue and blue with black stripe wires , switch those and you do not have to flip the switch

I did verify the single spade on top. I used a picture of each of the 3 switches with all wires labeled clearly as a guide.
I did switch the blue and blue/black and the driver passenger switch would not work IIRC I will test further to re-verify... |
