Cloth centers on sport seats 1978 SC

Greetings from the continent,

Almost -- a last thing for my 1978 SC Targa is to bring the interior together. It has an original leather 'cork' colored upholstery. All of it is the color cork. Wear and tear included. I would like to consider restoring the sport seats with a period fabric down the middle. Something that might lean in the direction of its petrol blue metallic paint.

Where do I find an authentic guide to what was available in 1978? This would help as a check if and when I decide to have it done pro. Anything you have to say on the subject is welcome. Germany's border is probably about an hour away.

De groeten,

Tim

How about pinstripes?
1978 911 SC Seat Details

You should be able to find an interior colors brochure on a website somewhere. There is a 1978 for sale on eBay now: https://www.ebay.com/itm/297138346057

Here is a 1979 brochure, probably the same as 1978: https://www.turbosition.com/download.php?file=/media/brochures/Porsche-911-SC-Turbo-Farben-und-Innenausstattung-1979.pdf

It may not be period correct, but it sure looks good, and that's houndstooth fabric.

Thanks I'll take a look. I image that if I approach somebody for quotes they might also be pretty savvy on the subject.

Try browsing relicate.com
Lots of interior cloth options there and you can order samples. If you plan to stay period-correct I am pretty sure the plaids were in use in the 70s-80s.

Yes, a Scottish tartan that ties in with the car's petrol blue.

Here is a picture of the interior in my 1978SC, with minerva blue paint.

PASHA came around that time.
period correct and awesome.

Not everyone cup of tea

I find tartan good for grandmas pillows and skirts. But that's my opinion
