Replacing Starter in 1985 3.2 Carrera M491 ROW Vehicle
I decided to purchase an aftermarket high torque starter. I noticed that two wires bolt on to the post with the smaller green wire fastening to the clip. I worked on older German cars and most starter leads had their own post.

Presumably, there's a question in there. Maybe it's a clever non sequitur.

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1756676356.jpg It is very important to get the correct 3/8" extensions because the tool will not clear the firewall when removing the backside barrel bolt. 915 gearbox. The high torque starter is much smaller and lighter in weight. |
And it sounds totally different!

Project was completed. The sound of the starter is different. Fires the car up nicely. I am going to rebuild the OEM starter.
