911F 72 Model Fuel Pump & Relay location
Hi Guys, I am an old man now and I remember 10 years ago I new everything about Porsche F models.
So after a long storage time I had the feeling I should start my Porsche again. I noticed when I turned the ignition no fuel pump noise. Can someone tell me which relay is for the Fuel pump. fuel pump and the location is under the car behind the steering rack? This would be very kind. I hope a mice eat my wire or an stuck relay but not a clocked pump of the bad modern fuels. Thank you for the support Bob Gesendet von meinem 2311DRK48G mit Tapatalk Last edited by HKZ Bob; 07-05-2025 at 07:25 AM.. |

Fuel pump on a 72 is near the left rear control arm.

If it is like my 1973, there is no relay for the pump which is under the left rear passenger seat.

Funny. After replying to this thread I took the first drive in my 72 after 6 months of projects. Ran great. Decided to restart it and move it over by a foot so I could put it in the air and check for leaks.
No fuel pump sound. Wiggled the 2 pin connector near the relay panel and fuel filter and found one of the wires was holding on by thread. Come on. 53 years. These wires should last longer than that. Rebuilt the connectors, stripped back the wires far enough to find some good clean copper. Some heat shrink. Of course it fired right up.
