What material are non turbo 911 heads made from

We are looking at welding some 3.0 and 3.2 heads and my welder needs to know the aluminum compound the heads are made of.
I did a search and came up empty.
Thank you for your help.

"Y" alloy Look on the corner of the combustion chamber side of the head and there will be a spot where those who cast them imprinted the alloy.

4043 would probably be your best bet for filler rod.

How will 4043 react to heat treating? If the heads are exposed to intense heating during the welding process, heat treating might be required/desirable.

An option might be cryo treatment.
