lazy 3rd gear synchro
 

After replacing my clutch and installing a Porsche short shift kit, my new problem uncovered is a weak 3rd gear synchro. Someone suggested a heavy duty gear oil might help until I can afford a gearbox rebuild. I am looking at Lucas 85w-140 gear lube.
Thoughts?
Suggestions?

Haven't tried Lucas, but Swepco 210 and Belray gearsaver have been working great under "extreme conditions" where 90w oil failed.

The short shift now shifts the trans quicker than before. The old 3rd doesn't like it. 80/90 GL-5.
