Help Removing Oil Level Sender 73T
Wow, I haven't posted looking for tech help in a long time. My oil level sender gasket is leaking and I am replacing the gasket. I know it is an odd shaped unit and would require some finagling to get it out. Well, I tried and for the life of me, I cannot see how to remove it. The rectangular assembly just behind the mounting bracket seems too large to fit through the hole. But I am sure it can be removed - I just cannot figure out the Rubiks Cube move to get it out. Can anyone here provide some guidance? Thanks!

Thanks for that. Still not 100% clear how to do it from your photo. Helpful to see though. I have seemingly twisted it multiple directions and it does not appear to be even close to coming out. I am sure I am missing something simple and that is why I am asking here. Looking for some specific directions on what moves to make that gets that rectangular assembly out through the hole.

Went thru this a few years ago, there was a video online but I can find it. See if this helps. Kind of like replacing the window regulator in the door frame, you need to get it in just the right orientation.

Hey Scott.
I just did mine. Basically. Once the unit is free, pull it 1/2 inch out, depending on orientation, raise/lower the assembly to get the rectangle through the hole then you basically turn 90 degrees to get the rod and float out the hole. I’m not sure where you are hanging up, there’s a few bumps in the road but nothing that a twist won’t fix. No excessive force required just some gentle twists and tugs.
