Fortunately I know enough to clean the lug holes up. It would have been nice if he had taped that off, but his work restoring it with that bend is great. I have had this rim sitting in my garage with the damage since I bought it in 1987. It's nice to have it back in shape.
For many years I have done my own tire mounting and balancing at a friends shop, but he sold it last year. This time I will have my friends at Speedwerk NY take car of it. They have a nicer machine than my other friend had.

I have an original wheel never mounted and there is paint in the lug valley I have never seen any real data that says that makes any difference. The anodize goes into the lug holes and then the paint so how does that make a hoot please explain.

The paint will wear away and the lug nut looses the torque.
