1975 ex race car build

Figure Ide just start a thread on my build. I’m terrible at making interesting posts. Sorry in advance.
1975 non sunroof 911
Fiberglass wide body fenders all around.
3.2 had a knock so long story short, rebuilding to a 3.4 with Mahle ps 98’s 964 cams
Staying single plug but still not sure what I want to do on engine management.
Had a magnesium case 915 with all Guards internals including 40/60 lsd. Because of the super tall first gear I opened up the trans to swap it since it’s on the removable guards main shaft. Well I discovered both the main bearings on the housing were spun.
But everything else inside looks new. So instead of repairing this case and getting the gears I wanted I instead found this stock 915/63 for $5k pretty freshly rebuilt. Dropped the LSD in there and called it a day.
Keeping the harmon racing fuel cell. Good condition.
Three piece 17” Fuchs redone to 17x12.5 and just moved the rears (17x9) to the front.
More to come.

The SCR spec class with the POC was a blast, those were the (air cooled) days

Working on sound insulation and seat fitment today. Picked up these cobra seats for now. So many damn holes were drilled into these wobbly floors. Like 40 holes on pas side. So FAAK IT!!. JB weld em up for now. Seal it. You’ll never know.

Took my 915 to Marty to get the LSD dropped in and closed up with the CMS cover plate. Cover plate would not go on. Ended up having to machine the seal groove.

I'm doing something similar, racetrack to street. I now call it a 911 Delete, NO heater, E-brake, defroster, wipers or sunroof. I went with manual window regulators instead of power.

Consider the Unstock show later this year if you get finished around October, your car qualifies.

Bringing it back to street use or refreshing the race car?

If we would stop going on vacation I’d have this running and moving by now.
Another week waisted on family stuff!!

PM me. We should hook up.
Please send me info for that event.

I should have this going by then if I didn’t mess something up with the motor.
I need to adjust all the suspension. Bleed brakes. Get my front bumper situated.
Power windows came with the doors Plus with the roll cage o wouldn’t be able to crank a manual window.

This was a race only car. Now back to street.

UnStock is Nov 16 right in my backyard!! Porsche Santa Clarita. So I’ll definitely be there.

Planning on keeping the full cage, or will you be modifying that?

I cut the driver side door bar out. It was extending into the previous glass doors. I’m not touching any other part of the cage.
Maybe I’ll add a removable section back running across the bottom. Just to make it harder to get in and out.
The more I do this car the more I wish I had just left it all alone.
