speedo gear needed for a kph to mph retrofit

I have a 1980 sc originally a Belgium car imported to the usa. it now has a mpg speedo. The back of the mph face plate says 2-28-85 w3301 mph the rest of the Speedo is dated 6-79 I'm assuming it's the original kph Speedo retrofitted to mph when the car was imported back in 85.

i originally bought the standard mph usa 20x30 replacement gear it didn't fit. Then i i was told i need the 20x30 row gear so i ordered that, it also didn't fit. ( the orange gear is the gear in question) The large tooth on the orange gear fits the odometer motor but the little gear part of the orange gear is to large to mesh with the original gear in the speedo.
The original gear was totally disintegrated so I have nothing to reference . .. does any one know what gear ratio i should use to fix a kpm speedo that was retrofitted to mph when the car was imported to the usa?
from what i can see there are 5 more gears that were used
20x20
20x21
20x22
20x23
20x29
im sure one size should be specific for a kph to mph conversion the vendor i spoke with didn't have the answer.

Just to confirm 20x21 gear its a perfect fit. The odometer and speedo works great thanks
