Raised mount for 915 wevo racing shifter?

HI all. I have seen these many times at race events but have not been able to track down a commercial source. Mounting it flush to tunnel , in stock position, really bangs into my seat edge (Sabelt XL) in 2nd and 4th gear. I also tend to drive pretty close to wheel so the seat is far forward....

Does anyone have one, know a source, or even even a homemade box, which many of them seem to be.?

Thanks for looking. Much appreciated... Frank

From another thread. Maybe this would work?

Raised Shifter in a street car?

It does increase the noise in the car a bit due to the holes on the side. If you want to use the heater controls you will need to cut out a notch to make them fit.

When you install it make sure you don't drill through your fuel lines. Don't ask how I know

I’m 6-4 and have my seat back as far as it will go, my steering wheel extended and am working on the shifter. I extended it about 4” and bent it back but it’s not enough. I have to use my finger tops for 3rd and 5th. So, I think I’m going to add a short shift kit and extend it more.

For my old 930 track car I used a Hargett shifter. It brought it way up and back. A perfect fit for the track but not a good look for the street.

Same for me. Had it for 10 years. LOVE it. Have to shorten the shift rod to make it work, and the knob sit in the right place (for me).

I will find a pic and post it here.

thanks everyone. very helpful. I tried the hargett unit (btw $$$) on my old 88 G50...race car.... it wobbled a lot and did not allow precise shifting.... then I was warned off it by. a very very well known race builder here in PA.. BUT just my experience. in a streetcar probably fine .. and a chick magnet likely

rocket. I did not even think of moving steering wheel ( iam 6-3 also) ... thats a great idea!! will likely need to put a solid block between the column and my quick release hub

but the commercial unit from rebel racing looks like the raise is enough to do the trick. as long as its rigid enough once mounted.

likely a combination of these will do. plus I can always cut off a bit of that seat... kinda ghetto but might help

cheers. frank

I had a similar issue.

For a stock shifter, Sherwood machined me a 5" extension which epoxied into the factory lever.

For a J West setup, J West machined me a 5" extension with the same thread as the existing lever. And you can clock it to suit your setup.

I have a 3” deep dish, Momo steering wheel, with a 3” spacer. I’d like to have a spacer so I could use the factory steering wheel, like I had with my E46.

When I was looking up alternatives for the raised shifter, I read that others had problems with the Hargett shifter, but I don’t recall that I did. My friend with his 930 bought the first one made and I bought the second one that he made.
