G50 transmission noise 911 3.2

Hi everyone,

I am experiencing an issue with my car at the moment. When I'm driving it happens in gears 2, 3 and 4, but usually more 3rd gear. As I accelerate a bit and back off, as soon as I back off and release the accelerator pedal there's a rattle, vibration noise coming from the transmission (G50), it only lasts a few seconds and stops. It can be alleviated by moving and holding the gear selector in that gear. So for example if the noise happens in 3rd, I can stop the noise by pushing the gear selector up further into 3rd if that makes sense.*

Is this cause for urgent concern? Any help appreciated.*

Thanks*

Take a look at this article (link below). I've just done this and it really helped. The last part is installing 999.701.969.40 - I'm a bit unclear what they mean by using a nylon strap - not sure if they are referencing a zip tie.

Yes, that would be a cable-tie (zip-tie, Ty-wrap, etc.).

BTW, you can just pick up a large O-ring at the hardware store (rather than buy a Porsche authorized part) for the 999-701-969-40.
