915 bearing retainer clamping action
I have measured the original 915 clamping plates and for both 4 point bearings there are 0.1mm less depth then the thickness of the flange on the bearing. The depth for the bearing on the main shaft is 2.9mm, the thickness of flange on the four point bearing for the main shaft is 3.0mm
That means that the bearing protrudes about 0.1mm above the surface of the retainer. I have also measured the one from CMS and the one from WEVO. The CMS one has the same measurement as the original but the one from WEVO is 0.1mm deeper, 3.0mm So, will the one from WEVO beging to spinn when the gearbox becomes warm ? I like to feel the bearing slightly proud of the surface of the retainer.

That 0.1 mm interference helps prevent the bearing from walking or spinning in the case as things expand and contract with temperature.
