How should the fuel pump cable be routed in a 1969 911E?

Is there anyone in this forum who knows how the fuel pump cable should be routed in a 1969 911E?

Apparently, there is supposed to be a fairly large rubber grommet near the fuel pump on the 1969 and 1970 models, and I have a new cable like that. However, I can’t find any hole to insert the fairly large rubber grommet that's attached to this new cable — it's the same type of grommet used for the brake lines at the pedal cluster.

The cable from my fuel pump goes up through the hole by the steering rack, next to the steering shaft, and then through a small rubber grommet so that it comes out near the spare tire. But I’m wondering if that’s actually the correct routing of the cable, since there doesn’t seem to be any place for the large rubber grommet.

/Tomas
