Extra flow at the fuel pumps????

I measured the flow of my pumps at the return line. It is supposed to be 1170cc's or roughly 40oz in 30 sec. I got more like 46 oz. I doubt this is a problem, but I do know that extra pressure means that one of the pumps is bad (can't remember which one) not that I understand how one bad pump can lead to extra pressure but that is what the manual says. Any thoughts?

I'm running fuel delivery tests on my 73.5T with CIS (one fuel pump). I not sure if we can compare systems, but...
I don't think you have a problem. I believe it's the opposite of what you are thinking. More flow = less pressure, and conversely, lower flow = higher pressure. Why would your manual say that a bad pump can equal extra pressure?: because if one goes bad, then your not going to have the fuel flow that your car needs, therefore it creates higher pressure in your system to make up for the lost pump (or something kinda like that). I would double check this...I wasn't at complete attention during physics class.
I read in my book that as long as you are not BELOW your fuel flow specs, you're OK. The rest of the fuel system should play it's part and regulate the amount of flow as needed.
Hope this helps. Good luck.
