4 X 100 watt H-1 setup ?
 

wanting to run 100 watt bulbs in all 4 H-1 sockets I have the following questions:

relays for every socket ? (see pic @ link) total = 4

will the stock alternator (2.7L type) support lighting all 4 simultaneously ?
auxillary fuse ratings ?
any adjustments to the main fuse block required / suggested ?

Those relays look like serious overkill to me. you should be able to run a standard automotive (4 or 5 pin) relay.

you need to size the fuse to protect the size of the wire not the bulb.

If you are using a common ground wire it need to be rated for the full current of every bulb it is supporting, so you may need to add additional ground wires similar to the power wires from you relays.

100W/12V=8.3A so you should probably build each circuit for a minimum of 10A capacity (assuming you are running a stand alone circuit for each bulb).

with all 4 running you will have approximately 35 amps going to just your headlights. I do not know what other electrical loads you have, so can't say if your alternator is up to the challenge or not.

While this is an interesting science experiment, one would imagine there are more effective ways of converting electrons to brighter lights.

How good are your reflectors? Are they new or restored? If not... you may want to think about doing that. The difference between old "faded" reflectors and new in terms of lighting, can be staggering.

great info 76FJ55 :cool: I have AWG 12 wire on the way. agreed about the relays. not sure what their actual rating is but, some time ago, when I considered the upgrade I based the idea on the attached pic. agreed, 10 amp fuses all around with every circuit grounded. I'll check the specs of the alternator. BIG thanks, Sir!

I see you don't like out-driving the headlights either, Eric! :D those look great, especially for 55s.
point taken about the reflectors. all of this stuff is still in storage waiting for the right time to "shine" ;) I don't suppose your reflectors are available separately ? thanks for chiming in.
