Another “What’s this wire for” question

I found this wire (brown - possibly faded orange - w/white bands & female spade) when changing out hoses to fuel evap control system in pedal cluster footwell in my 1970T. I am unable to determine its purpose from schematic diagram & also unable to find a mating connection to whatever it is for &/or eventually connects to. Any advice will be much appreciated.

Most likely (when its coming from the tunnel harness) its the (optional) wire for the Sportomatic gear lever.
