Question Bosch H4 light question

I just got a pair of Bosch H4 headlights for my SC and ordered them with the primered rings. I noticed that the rings appear to be attached such that they may not be easily removable. If thta is the case, do I paint the rings with the headlight attached? I also noticed that on the bottom of the assembly there is a screw that is hollow in the center - is there another cover or rim that is supposed to go over the primered ring already attached to the light? And finally, I saw that there was a small bulb in the headlight just below the main bulb - what is that for and how does one hook them up?
Thanks!

The headlights come apart easily. Just release the clips that hold the reflector and lens to the ring.

The small bulb are typically wired with the parking lights.

The way I wired up the euro city lights on my Audi was to use a relay such that when the headlights were off, the parking light power was routed to the city light, and when the headlights were on, the parking lights were used. When driving around town on dreary days, I can flip on the parking lights and I get the city lights and my tail lights.

Its certainly not DOT legal, but it looks good, and is closer to how the city lights seem to work in Europe, from what I remember from the times I've been there.

Okay. I was browsing the Pelican site and see that additional primer covers are sold for the H-4's It looks like these fit on top of the primer covers that came with my H4's - Is there a specific reason for additional covers?

Yeah...so you can paint them and put them over ( either) chromed or primered rings that are part of the H4 headlight itself. They also cover the adjustment screws that are otherwise visible.
