When I bought my car (911) I had a pretty far drive home from the spot where the PO and I met to exchange. I was doing about 90-95 on I-75 and looked at the oil gauge and almost locked up the brakes!!! I immediately called the PO on the cell phone frantic! He laughed!

Oh and few more commandments

1) Be prepared to stay up glazing and waxing your 911 deep into the wee hours of the night - Especially before a club meet or get together! (I was waxing until 1:00 a.m. last night)

2) If you have driven other sticks (Japaneese, newer american) DO NOT expect your 911 to shift like this-this is a whole diff world!

Does the oil gauge read 0 when going over 90 on all Porsches? Just the early ones? any particular reason why or is it an unknown reason?

Do a search on "oil gauge" or "check oil level". Briefly, the oil gauge measures oil in the tank which fluctuates as the car is operated - higher when the car has been idling, lower when the car is revving hard.
