P/N 901 201 271 00 is the OE cap and doesn’t have any kind of vent. Not aware of any g-body with a vented cap.

1. Got a photo?
2. More importantly, is the tank breather in the frunk routed correctly?

Wondering if this is some aftermarket cap used b/c the breather isn’t set up right.

The fuel vent in my '75 is independent of the cap. There is a hose from the filler neck through the trunk and out the left front of the chassis behind the fender. I believe mine would have originally had a charcoal filter, but that's long gone.
