The Future of Light (Weight)
http://www.imakenews.com/autospies/e_article000166054.cfm
gives some rumors about a new RS -- and a cynical take on it. Of course the old RS didn't have that many different components, and was mainly a stripped down S with a torquey and larger motor -- but the intent was different. |

You'd think the writer could have spelled Carrera right.
I've seen pictures of this on the net somewhere and I wasn't impressed at all, but who knows maybe it'll be cool. Nice attempt I presume even if it is to boost last minute sales before the new model hits. |

Just a little negative bias by the author.
In bold face text he calls the graphics "garish" and suggests that's all you get for your money. Then in the body of the article he acknowledges it has an extra 60 hp (60 hp! damn) and outruns the GT3. Then he closes the article by asking "Is this the Germans trying to boost sales or am I just a cynical young man?" Does this guy not understand how a business functions?

Sounds like a civic driver to me. Not riced out, just a plain old stock civic.
It's and I - D - 10 - T problem. Definitely an ID10T

Well, I dunno if he's an idiot, but I take all the points above. He's right to point out that there isn't a lot new in this car. It seems more like the CS to me than an RS.
There's nothing scary about 7350 revs in the new 996 engine tho. |

They already have a GT3 CS (with roll cage). I think it's RS all the way. Sure, it's not light enough, but they did do a lot to lighten it and I've heard another 50 kg wouldn't be hard to remove once you have the car. Some crazy people with the old GT3 street have gotten theirs really light. The revised suspension with different pickup points and stiffer springs and dampers puts it over the top for me. I mean the GT3 was already stiff, 20% more so than the old one, now the RS pulls no punches.
Sorry, I've become sort of a true believer with this car. I hope they get some official times on the nurburgring with it. I expect it to beat the GT2 and provide times low enough to bring over some more believers.
