930 Heater advice needed

I cant seem to turn off the heat in a 1981 930.
I have fiddled with the controls on the dash and between the seats, I am sure that the heater control things are all he way open. I am considering removing the heater ducts under the car for the summer. Anyone out there have a better idea?

On second thought,
I got under there again, If I removr the heater duct on the passenger side. it looks like the heat from the exchanger will be vented right at the starter, and there appears to be some kind of heat sensor in the duct on the drivers side. I need another idea to stop the heat from coming in the car. Thanks

I actually pull the hoses on mine for the summer, as well. Even with them open, I would still get some heat flowing into the passenger compartment and trust me, in VA I don't need any extra in the summer!

mine is a euro as well.
Are there any issues with the heat from the exchanger blowing on the starter or the heat from the exchanger not getting to the sensor?

I have not noticed any problems. My starter works fine, and I have the auto heat setting at 0 or off. I also have the arm popped off the servo in the autoheat box because when I do want SOME heat in the cooler months the system always seems to want more!!! I then just use it manually, pulling or pushing the lever.

The cable that runs from the lever between the seats back got stuck in the open position. I lubricated it and that solved my problem

This will work until you find your problem.
Go back to the heater control box, the cable
will be attached to a round slide hatch.
Open the hatch with you hand, if it will not
stay open remove the spring and install it on the
other side on the hatch to keep it open.
Do this on both sides and it should stop the flow
of hot air.
Good Lucik!!
