This doesn’t look right…

After I installed my J West headlight relay/wiring, I was looking at pictures of the fuse block, and I noticed a couple of things.

You can see the black wire looped from one fuse to the other on the top. Why would somebody loop it?

Looks like an aftermarket fuse below. I pulled out what I think was an alarm system, and I thought all of the wiring, but maybe I missed the fuse.

Also, the second fuse from the right, has wires at the top, but not at the bottom.

Except the horn, I think everything works as it should.

Doing a little more research, I saw that one fuse diagram showed what look like the fuse I have….

I recently replaced my fuse panel and saw similar things. Not a wire looped, but there were several of the fittings that were bridged with a copper plate, so the previous owner probably lost or broke the copper plate (I broke one of mine as I was working on it) and replaced it with a wire.

I don't remember which fuse it was, but I remember one with no wires at the bottom, too. When I looked closer there was an internal bridge built in to the back of the fuse panel so it was tied in to one of the adjacent fuse connections.

At this point I'll give you the advice I give myself when electrical things are working: leave it alone :-)

Too late! I removed the black wire and the headlights work, but I need to check if the car still runs and if there’s any problems. I run into any problems, I will put it back. And figure out what’s going on.

I still need to figure out that black fuse, and what it does or goes to

if it is gr/sw ,it is for the extra fog light in the rear-(the black fuse body)..
