Torsion Bar Tube EndvRubber Coating / Cap

There are very few instances where I can't dig up some info on how folks are dealing x-y-z or what products are available for this that and the other thing from searches...

As you can see, my torsion bar bushings are shot, so I'll need to deal with that. I noticed all listings for full Spring Plate Replacements, the torsion tubes where you place jack stands are bare metal.

mine are all torn up...

What do people usually do here? just remove the rubber coating when they get ripped up from stands? I figured since they came from Porsche with some kind of coating there would be caps or sleeves or something you can throw on there.

I’ve only had two 911s and one 930, but none of them had the rubber coating. I just replaced the spring plates on my 911 earlier this year, and they did not have the rubber cover.

When I replaced my bushings I recoated them with rubberized undercoat. Mainly for rust protection and it looks nice.

the spring plates listed on our host shop are bare metal, I even linked to a set in my original post

now im more curious about why you seem reluctant to share the name of the company who produced your new spring plates with rubber cap, did you buy them somewhere else other than our host?
