no warning buzz

Is my '79 SC supposed to have a warning buzz when the key is left in the ignition and the door is opened? I know it's almost impossible to lock yourself out but it's doable if you really tried.

Consider yourself lucky.

Someone pulled the relay out, so you don't have to. Disabling that obnoxious buzz was one of the best things I have done to my car.

You're probably right Tom. Thanks for the reply.

If you want to check, the key buzzer relay is/was installed behind the tach or the speedo. Just look to see if you have a missing relay. As Tom said, one of the best 'mods' I did too - that buzzer was way too annoying.

Just out of curiosity, I think I will check it out. Thanks for the location of the relay, Steve.

It's a fairly big rectangular relay. My stereo guy pulled it out to do some work, and I actually had him put it back in. My son rides in the car all the time, and anything that helps keep track of what's going on is worthwhile for me.
