Identifying Source of Oil: Intake Boots & Brake Booster Vacuum (engine side)
83 SC, 65k Miles
No luck searching for other examples of what I've found topside of engine... First, while poking around with a boroscope I can see obvious oil wetness around the rubber intake boots / sleeves. They are mildly wet on 3, 2, 1 - but more so on 6, 5, 4. (see drip) ![]() Second, what could be the source of oil inside the brake booster vacuum line near driver side firewall at back of engine bay. I decoupled the connection (circled) and I'd say a couple tablespoons of oil came out. ![]() For what it's worth, my car runs great and does not smoke. Curious what the experience of the group has to say about it.. thanks in advance

Hey Ivan, no oil in the airbox behind the filter. I’m in the midst of preparing for my first engine drop, so I can’t test blow by from filler cap… but after my last oil change last year I didn’t notice anything irregular when I checked level after warm. Oil measured within appropriate range on dipstick back then, too.

Just adding. Oil has been at correct levels on dipstick each time I checked since.. and I haven’t had to add any..
